This is my first post to the blog and I have to say that all this came up as the result of a motorbike accident I had the 25th of July which has made me irredeemable stuck in front of the computer. I have a broken ankle and the other foot is not feeling really well, nothing too serious, but the poor soul has to cope with my weight when I walk with the crutches.
I've always had in my mind the idea that spending hours building up a blog would take a great amount of time, but lucky for me _I may say this as I'm still alive and kicking although with a plaster on my foot_ I was even brave enough to have another go at my forgotten web page, with many new ideas in my mind, but I was never able to complete it www.mgmeider.com
I also hope to begin with my other web www.meiderphoto.com and have it ready on time. This one will focused more on commercial photography and with a wider photographic variety. As I said before in “about this blog” I don’t only pretend to talk about nature and travel photography, but general photography. Photography is my passion and I love to talk about anything to do with pressing a camera shutter. And although nature photography it really fulfils me, we have to come down-to-earth, open our eyes and look at a situation that has been going on for ages and it doesn’t seem to change; the difficult market scenario where photographers try to sell their nature and travel images.
Its true that markets are changing in every aspect and affecting generally to all of us, but you can’t deny that this speciality in particular is long suffering. Hours and hours of loneliness going through many difficult situations and there are times where you find yourself without a single decent image on your memory card to offer to your clients or agents. It is the result of facing up to a scenario where you have a lack of control over your subjects and very little or none over the lighting you want or might wish. When you set up a photo session on the beach or in the studio, for example, you generally get back to the office with some images. Another thing is what you bring back with you is what you expected and is dependent on your skill as a photographer or if the model or what you wanted to photograph had a good or bad day.
It could be that I’ve gone over 6 weeks now tied up to my office chair with my plastered leg but this thought was something I wanted to share with you.

Esta es mi primera entrada en el blog y tengo que decir que es el resultado de un accidente de moto que tuve el pasado día 25 de julio y que me ha llevado irredimiblemente a estar pegado al ordenador. Tengo un tobillo roto y el otro pie no parece que esté muy bien tampoco, nada grave, pero es el pobre el que tiene que soportar todo mi peso cuando ando con las muletas.
Siempre he tenido la idea en mi cabeza que pasar horas preparando el blog iba a suponer una inversión de tiempo bastante elevado, pero para mi fortuna _y debo decirlo ya que sigo vivo y coleando aunque con una escayola_ incluso he tenido el coraje suficiente para incluso volver a atacar mi abandonada Web, que aunque con muchas ideas en la cabeza, nunca llegaba a completarlo www.mgmeider.com
También espero poder empezar mi otra Web www.meiderphoto.com y terminarla a tiempo. Esta será más enfocada al tema comercial y con una variedad de temática diferente en cuanto a fotografía. Y es que como he comentado en mi apartado “sobre este blog”, pretendo hablar no solo de fotografía de naturaleza y viajes, sino de fotografía en general. La fotografía es mi pasión y me encanta hablar de cualquier tema que tenga que ver con apretar el disparador de una cámara fotográfica. Y es que aunque la fotografía de naturaleza sea para mí la que más satisfacciones me da, hay que ser realistas y abrir los ojos ante una situación que desde hace mucho tiempo no parece que vaya a cambiar; la difícil situación del mercado para los fotógrafos que venden imágenes de naturaleza y viajes.
Es cierto que el sector y el mercado está cambiando en todos los aspectos y afectando de manera general a todos, pero no se puede negar que esta especialidad en particular es bastante sufrida. Horas y horas en soledad pasando por muchos avatares y hay ocasiones en las que te vuelves para casa sin una sola foto en la tarjeta de memoria y sin nada que ofrecer a tus clientes o agencias. Es el resultado de enfrentarte a una situación en la que no tienes ningún tipo de control de los elementos que vas a fotografiar y poco o nada de la iluminación que quieres para ello. Cuando preparas una sesión fotográfica en la playa o en el estudio generalmente sabes que vas a volverte a casa con una serie de fotos en tu poder. Que el resultado de la sesión sea bueno o malo ya va a depender de tu pericia como fotógrafo y de cómo te haya ido ese día con los modelos o con lo que hayas querido fotografiar.
Será que llevo ya 6 semanas prácticamente atado a la silla de mi estudio con la pierna escayolada y he tenido ganas de compartir esto con vosotros.
